Org. Setting and Reporting The Office of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General for Sudan (OPESG-Sudan) leads the Secretary-General’s good offices and political engagement on Sudan, working with Sudanese parties and a broad range of regional and international stakeholders to advance efforts towards ending the conflict and restoring a credible, inclusive and Sudanese-owned political process. The Office seeks to strengthen coherence, coordination and complementarity among mediation and diplomatic initiatives in support of a sustainable political settlement. This position is located in the Office of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General for Sudan (OPESG-Sudan), based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Political Affairs Officer reports to the Principal Political Affairs Officer, who serves as Head of Office.
