About this role
Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Naqoura. Under the overall supervision of the Chief Security Officer (SCO), the Security Officer, (FS- 6), reports to the CSO and the Deputy CSO on all security operations as assigned. Responsibilities • Assists the CSO or her alternate with office management procedures, supervises UNIFIL Security Units, including SIOC-info and SOC operations, as needed. • Prepares, reviews and implements security risk management documents, including Area SRMs, ad hoc SRMs and contingency plans, as required. • Conducts assessment of prevailing local security conditions, identifying security trends and advising UN personnel, project personnel and eligible dependents on security issues. • Participates in planning and establishing physical security measures at the UNIFIL forward logistics hub in preparation for the UNIFIL drawdown. • Supports with the review and implementation of the Security Section’s disposal plans in preparation for the drawdown and liquidation period. • Serves as a member of the Security Cell, implements and evaluates the security plan. • Evaluates air, land and sea…
