About this role
Background: UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Background Information on the Country Office The CO is implementing a growing portfolio of gender equality and humanitarian programmes that support women and girls affected by conflict, displacement, climate-related shocks, and other crises. These interventions are implemented in partnership with government institutions, UN agencies, civil society, and women-led organizations, with a focus on GBV prevention and response, women's leadership, protection, and localization. Strengthening Gender Equality and GBV Lifesaving Prevention and Response Services for Women and Girls in Cabo Delgado is a project funded by the Gender Envelop of UN OCHA’s Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).
