Project Context and Scope The Government of Bangladesh has adopted the National Action Plan (NAP) for the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) as a guiding framework to strengthen migration governance, enhance the protection and well-being of migrants, and promote safe, orderly and regular migration. The NAP provides a comprehensive framework for translating the objectives and commitments of the GCM into nationally relevant actions and interventions. To ensure effective and practical operationalization of the NAP, it is important to identify priority areas, actions and implementation considerations that reflect the needs and realities of migrants and migration-affected communities at the local level. This requires an inclusive and participatory consultation process involving relevant government institutions, local authorities, civil society organizations, migrant communities, aspirant and returnee migrants, families of migrants, private sector representatives, development partners and other relevant stakeholders.
