About this role
Background/Context UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. In Cambodia, UN Women's work is guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2024-2028, the Regional Strategic Note (2026-2029), and the Corporate Strategic Plan (2026-2029), These frameworks shape UN Women Cambodia's key priorities in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment (GEWE). UN Women Cambodia has worked closely with women machinery to monitor the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
