About this role
Background: UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. The UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECA RO), based in Istanbul, leads and coordinates the organization’s work across the region. The Communications Team plays a pivotal role in positioning UN Women as the leading voice for gender equality and women’s empowerment, advancing visibility of the triple mandate — normative, programmatic, and coordination — and amplifying the impact of UN Women’s work for women and girls across diverse contexts.
