HAMAP-Humanitaire is seeking for an interim Middle East Regional Coordinator to replace our collaborator for a period of 4 months, based in Lebanon with potential trips to Iraq, Syria and Jordan. Introduction to HAMAP-Humanitaire Founded in 1999, HAMAP-Humanitaire is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to development aid. Its mission is to take concrete action to ensure that ever more men, women and children have access to safe drinking water and sanitation, education, healthcare and security. Its objective is to support and strengthen its local partners from the initial identification of needs right through to the implementation and sustainability of their projects. HAMAP-Humanitaire’s work focuses on two main areas of activity: water and sanitation engineering and hygiene, and Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA). Mine Action: HAMAP, which later became HAMAP-Humanitaire, originally stood for ‘Halte Aux Mines Anti-Personnel’ (Stop Anti-Personnel Mines). Mine action is therefore the organisation’s original purpose.
