Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Trade Facilitation Section, Trade Logistics Branch in the Division of Technology and Logistics of the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The Assistant Economics Affairs Officer will report to the Head of the Section. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Chief of the Trade Facilitation Section, the Assistant Economic Affairs Officer will be responsible for the following duties: Economic and/or sector analysis: • Provides support for collecting, evaluating, interpreting, analysing specified statistics and qualitative socio-economic information obtained from a variety of sources and pertaining to economic development, trade facilitation, supply chains and trade digitalization. • Assists with maintaining databases and programmes for database management and organizing non-quantitative information on economic development, trade facilitation, supply chains and trade digitalization. • Assists in the design, testing, operation and modification of econometric models. • Supports the preparation of first drafts of sector, country or regional components of analytical studies on development issues and policies. •…
