Within this mandate, it supports Member States in implementing the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (2021), the first global standard in this field, and more recently the Recommendation on the Ethics of Neurotechnology (2025). In the region, UNESCO accompanies the ministerial process on AI ethics — including the Third Ministerial and High-Level Authorities Summit held in Santo Domingo in June 2026 and its 2026–2027 Regional Roadmap — and works with governments on Readiness Assessments (RAM) and training for…
