Work Location Remotely Expected duration 5 weeks Duties and Responsibilities Background Within the framework of United Nations Economic Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA)’s Subprogramme1, focused on supporting the transition to sustainable energy systems, ESCWA and the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAOL) organized a National Dialogue on “Transforming Libya’s Extractive Energy Sector towards Sustainable Energy Systems” in Tripoli that brought together key stakeholders to review the implementation of Libya’s National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Strategy (2023-2035), identify opportunities and challenges for accelerating the energy transition, and agree on priority actions related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, distributed energy systems, hydrogen, electricity interconnectivity, digitalization, and capacity-building.
