DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. Since 2011, DRC has focused on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community, and more recently the impact of the economic and financial crises as well as responding to the ongoing conflict. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improving the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contributing to the achievement of durable solutions. DRC is focusing its response in protection, economic recovery, shelter and site coordination and management, and humanitarian mine action across the country directly and through partners. DRC is also contributing to the broader humanitarian response through our Referral Information Management System (RIMS), utilised by 170 organisations.
