Org. Setting and Reporting These positions are located within the Medical Services Section in the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), with the duty stations in Goma and Beni. The incumbents provide medical support to UN personnel in the field, undertake day-to-day clinical duties, occupational health duties, and provide health education. The Medical Officers report to the Chief Medical Officer. . Responsibilities Within limits of delegated authority, the Medical Officers, P-3 will be responsible for the following duties: Clinical Duties: Support clinical duties, including emergency response and support to the Ebola outbreak, Support staff referrals to outside specialists as necessary and follows up with outside specialists. Participate in addressing work environment and occupational health issues. Ensure quality in clinical services including the implementation of quality control mechanisms and procedures, the use of published UN clinical guidelines, and adherence to patient safety and adverse event reporting requirements.
