Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Transport Section, Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics (DTL) of the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The Assistant Economics Affairs Officer reports to the Chief of the Section. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Chief of the Transport Section, the Assistant Economic Affairs Officer will be responsible for the following duties: Economic and/or sector analysis: • Provides support for collecting, evaluating, interpreting, analysing specified statistics and qualitative socio-economic information obtained from a variety of sources and pertaining to resilient and sustainable transport and logistics systems and supply chains. • Assists in the design, testing, operation and modification of econometric models, analytical tools and impact assessments related to transport, trade logistics and supply chains. • Supports the preparation of briefing notes, inputs to speeches and similar material on sustainable and resilient transport and trade logistics, including shipping, ports, as well as transport, transit and economic corridors, in a form that is meaningful to non-specialists. •…
