About this role
Background: UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. The UNCT-SWAP Gender Equality Scorecard is a United Nations system-wide accountability and self-assessment framework that enables United Nations Country Teams (UNCTs) to assess how effectively gender equality and women’s empowerment are mainstreamed across their collective work. The Scorecard assesses UNCT performance across seven dimensions and 15 Performance Indicators and supports Country Teams in identifying gaps and agreeing corrective actions to strengthen gender mainstreaming. UNCT Azerbaijan has implemented the UNCT-SWAP Gender Equality Scorecard through a comprehensive assessment followed by annual progress assessments, most recently in 2025.
