Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located within the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). The Supply Officer will be based in Kabul and will report to the Chief, Centralized Warehousing. Responsibilities The Supply Officer will be responsible for the following duties: • Inventory and storage management: conduct analysis for warehouse managed inventories and advise technical units, visibility of inventory ownership, cycle counting and physical inventory. • Ensure that all warehouse operations KPIs are met. • Plans and prepares current cost estimates/budget implications and long-term forecasts of Organization’s requirements for machinery, equipment, tools, materials, services, supplies, food aid and utilities. • Initiates actions leading to procurement, maintenance and disposal of items. • Undertakes market research and reviews best practices in contract development and adapts such practices to United Nation’s (UN) requirements. • Establishes and/or reviews mission requirements.
