Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Aviation Unit of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. The Air Operations Assistant reports to the Chief Air Terminal Unit or designated supervisor. The incumbent supports the coordination, monitoring, safety, and emergency response aspects of UN aviation operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft, passengers, cargo, and aviation support services in accordance with United Nations aviation standards and procedures. Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Air Operations Assistant will perform the following duties: • Assists in coordinating routine passenger, cargo, logistics resupply, special, VIP, military operational, casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) flights. • Assists in flight following and coordinating integrated search and rescue operations involving UN air assets. • Assists in coordinating diplomatic overflight and landing clearances, ground handling services, and support arrangements for aircrews, including accommodation, transportation, and meals. • Assists in planning and coordinating aircraft parking…
