Description : 1. Post Context/Post Summary Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) HQ is the Théâtre Land Component and Land Advocate responsible for coordinating and synchronizing NATO and Partner Land Forces by enabling land domain readiness, interoperability, standardization, and competency; on order deploys headquarters elements to provide planning, coordination, and command capabilities to Allied forces. The Operations Directorate is responsible to Chief of Staff (COS) for monitoring and coordinating operational staff functions. The Engineering (GENG) Division analyses the terrain and infrastructure of the Area of Operations (AOR) and determines their effect on mobility, counter-mobility and survivability, recommends protective works and neutralization of opposing force's protective structures; it also proposes infrastructure improvements and protection against improvised explosive devices. The lnfrastructure and Plans Branch provides advice on the infrastructure in the Area of Operations and on military engineering to the Land Operations Planning Group and drafts LANDCOM projects for the NATO Security lnvestment Programme.
