About this role
Responsibilities and Duties Clean, prepare, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and standards. Receive, sort, and prepare used medical instruments and supplies for cleaning and sterilization. Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles according to approved operating procedures. Verify the effectiveness of sterilization processes using chemical and biological indicators in accordance with established procedures. Prepare and package medical instruments and equipment prior to sterilization in a manner that ensures their safety and maintains sterility. Store sterilized instruments and supplies in an organized and safe manner. Monitor the validity and integrity of sterilized items and ensure they are protected from contamination. Prepare and distribute sterilized instruments to different departments according to their needs. Strictly adhere to infection prevention and control and occupational safety procedures when handling contaminated instruments.
