About this role
Position: Driver Contract: 5-months renewable contract Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar The Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of IITA staff, partners and official visitors, the delivery and collection of mail, equipment and supplies, and the upkeep and maintenance of IITA vehicles in Madagascar, in accordance with the IITA/AfricaRice vehicle management policy. The Driver reports hierarchically to the Project Administrator. DUTIES Perform daily maintenance checks on IITA vehicles, including oil, water, battery, brakes and tires, and arrange for required minor and major vehicle maintenance. Keep vehicles clean. Organize hotel-airport transfers for official personnel visiting Madagascar. Drive the office vehicle to transport authorized personnel and to deliver and collect cargo and other items. Drive vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and observe all road safety regulations. Inform the Project Administrator in a timely manner of any problems observed with the vehicles, as well as any necessary repairs.
